![]() Tried changing the driver in the Windows Device manager, but to what? I see no "Driver folder" in either the software download, or the download for the new firmware. If it is listed as “STM32 BOOTLOADER”, the driver needs to be changed (Driver folder)" Trying to make sure I'm running the latest firmware on an EVC2SX I just bought from you, following the instructions, all is good until Windows 10 connects to the device with the jumper set, and it is listed as STM32 BOOTLOADER. I don't even have a serial # anymore lol! Let me know if I should just order a new EV C? ID : STMicroelectronicsĠ7:31:02 : Time elapsed during the read operation is: 00:00:00.481 When I switch the jumper back and try and access it in EVC mode I just get this in device manager: "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)"Ġ7:31:02 : USB speed : Full Speed (12MBit/s)Ġ7:31:02 : Manuf. Then in trying to fix it choose one of the options "erase everything" and now I'm at a point where the only time my EVC is recognized by Windows 11 is when it is in bootloader mode. I'm pretty sure I've bricked my EVC2SX-03 (STM32F072C) - I think I got mixed up with the whole DFU and then non-DFU bootloader and at one point had both STM programs installed. ![]() The device we're looking for is the Internal Flash (alt=0).įinally, flash the new firmware (replace firmware name with the one you're flashing)ĭisconnect the USB cable, move the jumper to position (1-2) and reconnect the cable. Not sure why anyone would want that at the moment, but perhaps there are people using linux as a daily OS and want to quickly flash a new firmware on EVC2.įirs of all, move the jumper to the BOOT position (2-3) and connect the cable.Īfter successful install, you can verify the util sees the device by typingĬopyright 2005-2009 Weston Schmidt, Harald Welte and OpenMoko Inc.Ĭopyright 2010-2020 Tormod Volden and Stefan Schmidt I've recently recovered my profile on the forums, so here's what you need to flash the firmware from a linux machine. ![]() It currently says to follow a guide on the dfu-util site which I can't find it just links to a libusb page which also doesn't say how to use Zadig, and even the Zadig homepage doesn't mention the 'list all devices' option.I've promised to get the linux flashing instructions really long time ago. Can't be bothered making a github account, but it would help to raise an issue on about adding Windows instructions for DFU, either to use the ST tool which should work with the auto-installed driver or provide Zadig instructions. ST could also have bothered to put their vendor and product ID in the DFU application note, and maybe include the word 'driver' at least once. Microsoft could also have tried a bit harder, like not letting drivers into their auto-install database that put things in the wrong place. ![]() It has always been a mess but I wish companies like ST would try a little bit harder, like not placing their device under 'USB controllers' when it's not a USB controller. Since I can't resist a short rant about the state of USB drivers on Windows and how that whole process was way harder than it needed to be.
